You might know us well for keeping your home or business pest-free, but Rose does a lot to give back to the communities we serve, too! With partners like the Chicago Wolves, Northwestern University and Bernie’s Book Bank, Rose and friends give back all year long with various charity programs.
Score for Charity
Rose has been friends and partners with the Chicago Wolves for 7 years. When it comes to family fun, no one does it better than our Wolves at the Allstate Arena. But our partnership goes far beyond a traditional sports sponsorship. Throughout the year, we organize book drives, volunteer days, and we participate in Score for Charity. For every win our Wolves goaltender makes, we donate $100 to Bernie’s Book Bank. At the end of the 2022-2023 hockey season, Rose presented a check for $3,500 to Bernie’s Book Bank in celebration of their 35 wins.
Books for Buckets
Since its debut in 2018, Books for Buckets, a program created by Rose with Northwestern University’s Men’s Basketball team, has collected over 30,000 children’s books to help put them in the hands of underserved children throughout Chicagoland. Each year, we host reading programs for local schools and groups, run book donation drives with incentives and for every three pointer made during the season by one of our Wildcats on the team, we donate a set of books through Bernie’s. This year Rose and friends from Northwestern University presented a donation check to Bernie’s Book Bank for $4,144.
Why Bernie’s Book Bank?
Besides some classic titles like A Very Hungry Caterpillar or Angelina Ballerina, what does Rose have to do with books? We say this a lot, but we believe that education is the first and BEST defense against pest-related threats in life. We take pride in educating the public on environmental balance and insect biology. It’s part of what really sets us apart from our competition. Reading is the single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success. Books and reading are both the vehicle and the road to a better life.
